In today’s society, demands on working parents are tremendous. Often times, our desire to care for our children and our needs to provide a quality of life for our family conflict. When this happens, you can count on our team of highly qualified nurses.
The following is an interview with Joan Morrison, RN (President) and Jana Bickel, RN (CEO) of KidsCaredFor.
Was raising children yourself the reason why this made so much sense?
Joan: Yes. Raising boys is not easy. There were many times every year we could have used the care of KidsCaredFor There weren't any businesses like this and had life slowed down a little I would have started this years ago.
What gave you the inspiration to create this business?
Joan: The need and caring about children. My background has certainly equipped me for this role. As an RN, I have worked at MD Anderson’s children’s cancer center, as a home health care nurse, a private school nurse, and as a recovery nurse. All of the nurses at KidsCaredFor have terrific backgrounds for providing the most compassionate care for sick children.
What is the structure of your business and why does it work so well?
Jana: We spent months studying the idea and talking to parents with school-age children to make sure we were providing the right services at the right prices. Unanimous feedback was “there is such a need for your company.” What we came up with is truly special. We have made one-on-one nursing care convenient and reasonable for families on the go.
How does a family take advantage of KidsCaredFor?
Jana: Call us. You will be surprised how easy it is to get our help. We provide a la carte services for one-time needs or our KidsCarePlan services start at $29.50 a month.
What is the vision of KidsCaredFor?
Joan: Compassionate care. We have all been sick and having someone there that cared made a real difference. Sick children should not have to be in strange places when they don’t feel well and children need the comforts that only a home can provide.
How do you ensure compassionate care with confidence?
Jana: Since we provide a premium service and charge accordingly we are capable of attracting the absolute best nursing talent. We have an extensive interview and screening process and are obviously looking for character and behavior consistent with our own beliefs. When we are with your child the parents will have constant contact with the nurse or our office. You will even recieve hourly updates on your child's condition and we encourage parents to call home and talk with the nurse providing the care. Our compassion is just something you have to experience.
